Thematic Focus

The work of the CBTF builds on ongoing research on trade, environment and sustainable development issues undertaken by UNCTAD and UNEP, and on the development of practical approaches and methodologies to promote trade, manage environmental resources, meet national development priorities and promote additional research, undertaken both in-house and by consultants and research institutions particularly from developing countries. CBTF research is focused on themes selected to respond directly to the expressed needs of beneficiaries to achieve sustainable development. The thematic focuses for research are listed below.
