Brainstorming Session on Trade and Environment Issues of the Doha Ministerial Declaration
Geneva, Switzerland, 25 February 2002
In response to the need to establish a dialogue on specific trade and environment-related issues in relation to the Doha Work Programme, expressed by several representatives of less-advantaged (LACs) and other developing countries in Geneva, including observers in the process of accession to the WTO, the UNCTAD secretariat and the Agency for International Trade Information and Co-operation (AITIC) organized a brainstorming session on trade and environment on 25 February 2002. The brainstorming session discussed specific capacity-building needs related to the negotiations on trade and environment issues in the CTE and other WTO bodies and highlighted the need for further briefing sessions on specific subjects figuring in the Doha Ministerial Declaration.
