Briefing on the UNEP-UNCTAD Capacity Building Task Force Activities for 2005

Geneva, Switzerland, 06 July 2005

The purpose of the meeting is to brief delegates on CBTF activities in the areas of Environmental Goods and Services, Trade in Organic Agricultural Products and MEAs-WTO Relationship and share the findings of CBTF research on environmental goods of export interest to developing countries.

The meeting would also provide an opportunity to discuss planned activities of the CBTF for the second half of 2005. The aim of the meeting is to help stimulate discussion on CBTF’s work programme, potential areas for collaboration and strategies for the future. This meeting is being convened during the lunch break of the WTO Committee on Trade and Environment regular session in order to benefit from the presence of capital based delegates in Geneva.
